The last nine years has been quite an experience, a whirlwind and an amazing privillage. I met my partner, made several lasting freindships, gained knowledge and undertsanding on a diverse range of issues and lived through an incredible part of history.
My website is no longer published and I will be reusing my domain for publishing future endevours. However, my parliamentary career is still documented online at the UK Parliament, at TheyWorkForYou, many videos can be found on youtube and an internet archive of my original site is also available. For posterity I will be republishing the old site on a subdomain in the coming days.
(Update: the old website has now been changed to the subdomain: https://martyn-day.weebly.comhttps://martyn-day.weebly.com)
I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who put their trust in me over that time, and to thank each and every activist who campaigned night and day for our cause. Most of all, I want to pay tribute to my fantastic office team who have worked unceasingly to support people across these communities. Together, we have helped over 37,000 constituents, and I believe that we have made a difference to those we have served.

On a personal note, I am indebted to my family who have stood beside me throughout this journey. I am looking forward to spending quality time with my fiancée and perhaps we may now even manage to arrange the wedding we have delayed thanks to countless campaigns!
Sixty-two years ago, Billy Wolfe made history and put the SNP firmly on the map in West Lothian. Sixty-two years later, we remain resolute in our mission and we are most definitely not going away.

I am immensely proud of the campaign we fought locally – together our team contacted more electors than any other local campaign. Speaking to over 10,000 voters at least once, and a whopping 1,700+ voters in the last week alone. We are, at the end of the day, a group of local volunteers, getting together, getting organised, and doing our best – and as with anything in life, there’s always room for improvement – but we simply could not have done more if we’d tried.
So I will not get too hung up on last week’s defeat – the cause of independence is much bigger than any one of us, or any one election result. We will continue until the job is done.
